Our featured trip, the 2-Day Lower will take you through the best the Lower Kern has to offer. The trip starts with Class II rapids and builds to Class IV, with plenty of calm sections for swimming.

The Forks of the Kern is a heart-pounding, multiple Class V rapid adventure in the Golden Trout Wilderness. You'll spend 3 days navigating this remote section of the river through spectacular mountain scenery.

Class III-IV Rapids

Day Trips with big rapids can be found on both the Upper & Lower Kern.

The Sampler is a half-day blast of Class III-IV whitewater on different runs of the Upper Kern.

For a full day of exciting Class III-IV river rafting, try the One-Day Upper.

The Gusto, on the Lower Kern is action-packed Class III-IV rapids through rocky canyons and tight gorges.

For those that have Class V experience, the Thunder Run is one of the best Class V runs in the state. The spring run-off pounds through this beautiful section of the Upper Kern for an unforgettable experience.

Class II-III Rapids

Groups with younger children (ages 6-11) or those wanting a fun, splashy ride, without big rapids can chose from Class II-III trips that run on both the upper and lower Kern River.

The Lickety Split (including the Double Split & Fun Run) trip runs just upriver of the town of Kernville, running through beautiful, broad river banks and into town.

Below the Lake Isabella Dam, the Picto trip runs through the granite walls and thick trees in the curvy Kern Canyon, and features Indian pictographs.

Once you experience the adventure of river rafting you'll back with KRT every season!
