Kern River Camping Part II: Glamping it

While rafting is fun, Kern River camping definitely adds to your outdoor experience. There are many places to camp in and around Kernville and we want to help you plan your perfect weekend adventure, with or without the kids.

One could say the only real camping is when you can’t take a shower for a week and your morning rituals include digging a hole. This is definitely an adventurous way to go but sometimes (or every time?) it can be pretty excellent to spend one of your few vacations a year in comfort, relaxing next to the steady flow of the river without having to smell your own BO. The older I get the more I enjoy the luxuries of “glamping” which seems to be getting quite popular with the increasing options that have been popping up. Everything from covered wagons to toy hauler trailers have made their way into the Kern River camping scene.

Here are a handful of spots we think you’d enjoy. If you already have your favorite spot, we’d love to hear about it!
