Multi-day
Trips
Multi-day trips are the best way to experience river
life. Kern River Tours features a secluded river-side
camp, where you'll find great meals, relaxation under
starry skies, and anticipation of the next day's adventure.
Our
featured trip, the 2-Day
Lower will take you through the best the Lower Kern
has to offer. The trip starts with Class II rapids
and builds to Class IV, with plenty of calm sections
for swimming.
The
Forks of the Kern is a heart-pounding, multiple
Class V rapid adventure in the Golden Trout Wilderness.
You’ll spend 3 days navigating this remote
section of the river through spectacular mountain
scenery.
Class
III-IV Rapids
Day Trips with big rapids can be found on both the Upper & Lower
Kern.
The Sampler is
a half-day blast of Class III-IV whitewater on different
runs of the Upper Kern.
For
a full day of exciting Class III-IV river rafting,
try the One-Day Upper.
The Gusto,
on the Lower Kern is action-packed Class III-IV rapids
through rocky canyons and tight gorges.
For
those that have Class V experience, the Thunder
Run is one of the best Class V runs in the state.
The spring run-off pounds through this beautiful section
of the Upper Kern for an unforgettable experience.
Class
II-III Rapids
Groups
with younger children (ages 6-11) or those wanting a
fun, splashy ride, without big rapids can chose from
Class II-III trips that run on both the upper and lower
Kern River.
The Lickety
Split (including the Double Split & Fun
Run) trip runs just upriver of the town of Kernville,
running through beautiful, broad river banks and
into town.
Below
the Lake Isabella Dam, the Picto trip
runs through the granite walls and thick trees in
the curvy Kern Canyon, and features Indian pictographs.
